A few days ago the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy awarded the German Resources Efficiency Prize. Freiberger Compound Materials GmbH in cooperation with Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg and the Helmholtz Institute Freiberg for Resources Technology received the trophy for an innovative process to recycle gallium from industrial wastewater.

Four small and medium-sized enterprises and one research institution was each granted a sum of EUR 10.000 in the scope of the awarding. The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy awards the German Resources Efficiency Prize to small and medium-sized enterprises and research institutions for the development and realisation of resources-efficient and material-efficient products, processes, but also services, which were selected by a jury with representatives from science, economy and society.
