Exciting insights into mathematics and computer science at the Spring Academy

The students in the virtual projection room CAVE
From February 24th to 28th, the TU Bergakademie Freiberg will once again host the Spring Academy of Math. Besides insights into virtual reality in the innovative projection room CAVE, there will be a workshop on microcontroller programming again this year.

his year, 30 participants - including 7 girls - have registered, mainly from Saxony, but also from Berlin and Brandenburg.

With lectures and exercises on mathematical topics such as graph theory (Prof. Martin Sonntag), infinity (Prof. Elias Wegert) or the evaluation of search results by Google (Dr. Uwe Weber), participants are shown how versatile, interesting and useful mathematics can be.

Since 1993, the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science has been organising the Spring Academy Mathematics, a project week for pupils in grades 10 to 12 who are interested in mathematics.

During the "taster course" the pupils have the opportunity to get a concrete picture of the requirements of studying mathematics and of student life in Freiberg. In particular, the study courses Applied Mathematics, Business Mathematics and Applied Computer Science as well as the new study courses Internet of Energy and Robotics are presented.

The Spring Academy is financially supported by the Association of Friends and Sponsors of the Mining Academy as well as our Marketing and Student Advisory Service Department.
