Delegation of Scientists from Gliwice at TU Bergakademie Freiberg

The Scientific Delegation at Senate Hall
At May 7 and 8, a delegation of 13 scientists of the Silesian University of Technology Gliwice came to discuss current and future cooperations at TU Bergakademie Freiberg.

In talks with scientists from the fields of chemistry, material science, mechanical and process engineering, they spoke about joint activities to extend the collaboration between the two universities, with participation of the International Office of the University and the rectorate.

Not only the common research, but also the exchange of students were in focus of the negotiations. At the one hand, the promotion of the offers for studies abroad at the partner universities should be improved, and more attractive double degree study programs should be introduced. At the other hand, the International Office of the University and the Language Centre of the University should extend their offers for the preparation and the support of the students for studies abroad in the framework of the university partnership.

Becaus of the similar technical orientation , there have been a close cooperation between the Silesian University of Technology and the TU Bergakademie Freiberg for more than 50 years. Currently, due to the partnership of both universities three common courses of studies, a double doctorate degree program and also several joint research groups and virtual laboratories are in work. The common coordination meeting which takes place alternately in Gliwice and Freiberg, has happened for the 16th time.
