Today, the composer, the US-American Jazz pianist and multiple Grammy Awardee Daniel Freiberg signed the Roll of Honor of TU Freiberg.

At the concert „Jazz meets Klassik“ in the Nikolai Church in Freiberg, at 11 April, his "Freiberg Saxophone Concerto" for Saxophone and Orchestra had been premiered. It was performed by the Mittelsächsische Philharmonie with soloist Anja Bachmann (Saxophone). The second premiere was the "Symphonic Jazz Rhapsody" for clarinet and orchestra of Andy Miles. In the evening, there is a further public performance at the theatre of Döbeln, and at the TV studio Mittweida on Saturday.

Daniel Freiberg was live to see at the opening concert on 10 April. Together with  Peter Weniger (sax), Paulo Morello (guitar), Omar Rodriguez Calvo (bass) and Diego Piñera (drums), the native Brazilian here presented the Daniel Freiberg South American Jazz Project.

From 10 to 15 April 2019, the Jazz Days of Freiberg had taken place for the 45th time. The Days had been organized by a Jazz fan group at Studentenwerk Freiberg, financially supported by TU Bergakademie Freiberg.
