Equality and Equal Opportunities at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg

Gleichstellung an der TU BergakademieThe mission statement of TU Bergakademie Freiberg stands for the realisation of equal opportunities and thus the equality of women, men and persons of other gender identities as well as for family friendliness and open encounters with people, cultures and ideas.

In order to anchor equality, equal opportunities and family-friendliness even more firmly in its objectives and procedures, TU Bergakademie Freiberg developed an equality concept for the first time in spring 2011, which formulates targets and measures for equality work until 2020. In 2017, the concept was comprehensively revised and adopted by the Senate as the Equal Opportunities Concept and Women's Advancement Plan of TU Bergakademie Freiberg - 2018-2025.

In January 2013, the Senate adopted the TU Bergakademie Freiberg's final report on the implementation of the DFG's research-oriented equality standards.

In addition to the targeted promotion of young female scientists through personal motivation and intensive support, the focus of gender equality work is also on the integration of gender equality indicators into quality management and the expansion of gender topics in teaching and research.

In addition, the aim is to increase acceptance for gender equality work and to achieve greater awareness of gender aspects through gender-sensitive language as well as further training and counselling opportunities. In sum, the conditions for professional development and the compatibility of work and family should be improved for persons of all gender identities to the extent that there are no gender-related disadvantages.
