Topic of the project is the synthesis and crystal growth of choosen frustrated magnetic materials under high pressure and high temperature condistions. We are concentrated on structures that are predicted for gemetric frustration, especially pyrochlore, spinel and perovskite variations. There we plan to synthesize knowen materials as well as searche for new representatives of the groups. As magnetic ions we use rare earth elements, choosen 3d-elements as well as heavy 5d-transition metals with strong Spin-Orbit-coupling like Ir and Os.
