Prof. Dr.-Ing. Prof. E. h. mult. Rudolf KawallaProf. Kawalla originally comes from the Polish city of Gleiwitz and studied metal forming technology there before joining ThyssenKrupp Stahl AG in Germany, where he also completed his doctorate at the RWTH Aachen University. In 1999, he accepted a call from the TU Bergakademie Freiberg to succeed Prof. Lehnert as Professor of Forming Technology and, at the same time, to the post of Institute Director of the Institute of Metal Forming. The main focus of Prof. Kawalla's work is in the field of material and technology development of flat products.
