Topic of the MEFORM 2019

MEFORM 2019 will deal with the topic of numerical and experimental simulation. With the use of the latest simulation approaches for material and process description in conjunction with experimental simulations, more and more energy-efficient material technologies are being developed and transferred to industrial plants. Fast simulation tools and modern computer technology allow an ever greater modeling depth in process design and larger amounts of data in structural and process analysis.

The topic of MEFORM 2019 therefore deals with the traditional thematic focus at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg and the IMF:

Simulation-based technology development

TitelbildAs in previous years, we expect a broad specialist audience from science and industry to present their research and development results. Contents of the conference will be:

 

 

  • Use and benefits of process and material simulations for the development of new and more efficient material technologies
  • Simulation concepts for fast and detailed process design
  • Current trends in resource-efficient materials and forming technologies
  • Energy-efficient rolling technologies and thermomechanical treatment for the production of semi-finished products
  • Thin slab, thin strip and casting-rolling technologies
  • Forging from the casting heat
  • Heating techniques, scale formation, and descaling possibilities
  • Plant concepts for production and further processing, process control systems and tool technologies
  • New alloy concepts for resource-efficient forming processes
  • New methods of microstructure analysis

Papers

In order to make the contributions accessible to a wider public beyond the conference, they will be published in Trans Tech Publications' Materials Science Forum (https://www.scientific.net/ )(Open Access), a journal listed by Scopus.

A template for the paper of the official conference proceedings can be found here. The Papers must have a page size of 6-8 pages.


Procedure of MEFORM 2019

The conference will traditionally take place at the Institute for Metal Forming, Bernhard-von-Cotta-Str. 4, 09599 Freiberg. The following programme is planned for the time being:

Wednesday, 20 March 2019Eröffnung MEFORM

Official start of the conference, lectures (incl. breaks) until approx. 18:00 o'clock, parallel to it a company exhibition as well as a poster show take place, in the evening the traditional conference dinner follows.

 

Thursday, March 21, 2019Firmenausstellung der MEFORM

Continuation of the lecture series as well as the company and poster exhibition, end of the conference around 1 pm.
