About the Institute
An estimated 7% of the electric power produced worldwide is utilized for comminution processes. Only about 1% of the energy converted by a crusher serves to create new surfaces, i.e. the actual material comminution.
At the Institute of Mineral Processing Machines, our research focus lies in more energy-efficient machines and ways to process raw materials. On the basis of a well-founded investigation into material properties down to the microscopic level, we develop ideas and solutions for improved, or completely new machine concepts. Energy efficiency and a sustainable utilization of resources are not in contradiction to, but rather depend on economic efficiency and performance – and vice versa!
