Global environmental change, climate change, scarcity of natural resources, environmentally friendly interventions in the earth to supply the economy with necessary resources - these are the challenges and tasks that are the focus of Freiberg's geosciences. Together with national and international partners, we work on the development of state-of-the-art technologies and processes for a responsible use of the finite resources of our earth. In doing so, we also face the ecological challenges of the 21st century! 27 professors teach and research in these fields. Currently, 894 students are enrolled in 3 bachelor's, 9 master's, and 2 diploma programs at the faculty.

Exhibition "Of the salt of life"

The exhibition undertakes an exciting journey into the multi-layered world of raw materials: across the continents of the earth, through Germany, but above all into our own living environment.
