Vaccination appointments for students still available
Rector Prof. Klaus-Dieter Barbknecht visited the vaccination centre today (July 5) and thanked everyone involved for their commitment. "Vaccinations are crucial to reach the goal of enabling more in-person teaching in the coming winter semester. Those who have not yet received a vaccination can easily take advantage of the offer during the next three days," explained Prof. Barbknecht. The two TU-employees Kathrin Häußler and Christiane Biermann support the organization of the vaccination offer for the students of TU Bergakademie Freiberg and report: "Around 450 students and employees have already booked an appointment and will receive their vaccination with the vaccine of Biontech/Pfizer today and until July 8."
The vaccinations are carried out by specialists from the German Red Cross (DRK). On the joint initiative of TU Bergakademie Freiberg and the city of Freiberg, a total of 800 vaccine doses will be available during the first week of July. The vaccination centre opens daily from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm; appointments can be booked online.
Here's how it works
People with a vaccination appointment are expected to bring their vaccination record and health insurance card. The vaccination centre has barrier-free access. There are 36 parking spaces directly at the Chemnitzer Str. 48 sports hall, and additional parking is available on Chemnitzer Straße. The vaccination centre can also be reached by public transport. The bus stop in front of the entrance on Chemnitzer Straße is served by lines A, C, D and line 742.
