Coaching for a successful start to your studies
Planning, organisation and orientation during the first semesters: For many students, the start of their studies marks the beginning of a completely new phase in their lives away from their familiar surroundings. At university, they encounter different forms of teaching and learning, new people and different academic cultures. With the Study Coach Programme, TU Bergakademie Freiberg supports its first-year students in this transition and thus makes it easier for them to sucessfully start their studies.
In individual coaching groups, participants examine their own strengths, personal values and their social support network. This promotes the personal development of the first-semester students, provides clarity about their own goals and priorities in their studies, optimises self-directed learning and makes it easier for them to cope with decisions and challenges relevant to their studies.
The coaches are postgraduate or doctoral students who have been trained in to be a coached. They receive professional support from the Graduate and Research Academy of TU Bergakademie Freiberg, the student advisory service and the Chair of Work, Organisational and Social Psychology of the project partner TU Braunschweig.
Group coaching begins in mid-November. Registration is now possible here.
If you would like to become a study coach yourself, you can find more information here.
The study coaching project D1RECTIONS takes place in cooperation with the TU Braunschweig and is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
