Bustling with activity: University festival BUNTER CAMPUS

Aerial view of the festival area
There was laughter, music and dancing: with around 2,000 visitors, the University celebrated a spring festival with students, staff and Freiberg residents at yesterday's event Bunter Campus.

As a prelude to the reopening of the university, the university festival offered a place for intercultural encounters, joint exchange and informal get-togethers of university members and the city society with summer temperatures, cool drinks and background music.

On dies academicus, the Mensavorplatz was already filled with interested visitors around noon. Student initiatives and working groups presented their work at numerous information stands. Among others, the RaceTech Racing Team, AKAS Freiberg, Enactus, AG Umwelt and Prisma Junior Consulting were present. In total, more than 20 initiatives, the student councils and the student council were represented.

A varied stage programme with live music, dancing and singing, which was largely created by members of the TU Bergakademie Freiberg, provided the musical background. In addition to DJ Sassy, the Voice Dance choir, the big band Wood'n'Brass, the Cramer Band and Stojanov & The Cover Ups performed and created a great atmosphere on stage. The crowning finale was the traditional singing of the Steigerlied.

The festival as a symbol of cohesion and social togetherness at the university once again strengthened the university culture after the past months of the pandemic.
