Melt atomization of new austenitic stainless steels with TRIP-effect and design of particulate properties
The A3 subproject focuses on the atomization of the steel melt. The challenge here is to provide suitable steel powders with special properties for new TRIP-matrix-composites. For this purpose, the existing atomizing system was equipped with imaging measurement techniques for the detection of particle size, temperature and speed and modified according to the latest findings. The aim is to reduce the particle size of the atomized TRIP-steels and thus improve the homogeneity of the distribution with the small zirconium dioxide particles in the composite materials.
