2017

The 68th BHT - FREIBERGER UNIVERSITÄTSFORUM will take place from June 7th to 9th, 2017.

This year the conference will focus on the "Efficient Exploration, Extraction, Processing, Using and Reusing of Raw Materials".

A sustainable use of resources requires the economic and ecological consideration along the entire value and process chain. With the 68th BHT - FREIBERGER UNIVERITÄTSFORUM the TU Bergakademie Freiberg follows this approach and offers some insights into the latest research results and developments.

The conference will be opened on June 7th, 2017 with a "Krüger-Colloquium". Participants from the field of science, business and society can expect a diverse and cross-cutting program during the following days.

FK 10: Secret of Science - 2nd PhD Conference

Details

Date: June 8, 2017
Conference language: English
Venue: Neue Mensa – large seminar room, Agricolastraße 10, 09599 Freiberg

Description

This is the 2nd interdisciplinary colloquium for PhD students organized by the PhD council of the TU Bergakademie Freiberg.

Young scientists will present their work to colleagues from other research fields and to the public. The critical part of such open talks is apparently the difficulty of communicating a specific research topic to researchers outside this subject's area or even to non-scientists like investors or simply family and friends.

Under the topic "Secret of Science: Interdisciplinary research communication and public presentation", there will be three sessions of talks were the PhD candidates can present their experiences in science communication based on their PhD projects. We will start with a keynote and continue with one session in the morning, followed by two sessions in the afternoon.

Further, we will provide space where PhD students can present posters on their research, practice networking and plan future collaborations.

A detailed program for the three sessions will appear on the webpage of the PhD council.

If you want to participate, please send an abstract

(in German or English) of your presentation to us.
