ARIDuA is divided into six work packages where each junior researcher will work on a specialised topic. Five institutes are involved with five professors who are responsible for mentoring the junior researchers.

Project objectives

Identification of the robot's core properties for planned applications

Development of new methods and technologies for smart-mining-environments with IoT infrastructure and determining robot applications

Use of a prototype robot in the research and teaching mine of the TU Bergakademie Freiberg

Investigation of the role of robots in installing, maintaining, rearranging and removing of IoT infrastructure in underground mining

Junior researchers achieving PhD qualifications and completing individual advanced training

Investigation of synergetic effects between robotics and IoT
