►Presentation and Conference Paper at the APCOM: Mining Goes Digital from 04-06 June 2019 in Wroclaw, Poland

The junior researcher Franziska Günther presented the ARIDuA project and the state of research in the project at the APCOM conference on 25.06.2019 in Wroclaw. The lecture entitled "Increased safety in deep mining with IoT and autonomous robots" was presented in the session "Mine Safety in Digital Transformation: S16 - New Technology for Underground Safety".

This paper paper analyzes requirements and presents a robot design capable of navigating autonomously underground and manipulating objects with a robotic arm.

In this year's Acamonta, the magazine for friends and sponsors of the TU Bergakademie Freiberg, an article on the ARIDuA project was published. This article summarises the work in the project in a compact and easily understandable way.

Presentations of the ARIDuA Junior Researchers at the 69th BHT on 07.06.2018

All young scientists presented the current state of research in their work package at the BHT on 7 June 2018. The 69th Berg- und Hüttenmännische Tag (BHT) at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg took place from June 6 to 8, 2018. The ARIDuA team presented itself at the FK 2 on the topic "Robotics, Automation and IT in Mining" with the following lectures:

►Article in "World Mining Frontiers"

The international journal "World Mining Frontiers" released its first volume of 2018, and the ARIDuA project got an article in it. Under the headline "Perfect match" we discussed the potential of robotics and IoT in underground mining on two pages. Presentation at AIMS First International Conference Mines of the Future in Aachen 23.-25.05.2018)

At the AIMS First International Conference Mines of the Future on 23.05.2018 in Aachen, the junior researcher Franziska Günther presented the ARIDuA project and the status of research in the project. The presentation entitled "Investigating synergies between autonomous robots and Internet of Things in underground mining" was presented in the session "Technological Advances and Innovation". The conference took place from 23-24 May at the RTWH Aachen with about 230 participants from 30 countries.

► Presentation & poster at the 19th Geokinematic Day from 17-18 May 2018

The presentation entitled "Autonomous Robots and the Internet of Things in Underground Installations" was presented by Sebastian Varga on May 18. The conference took place from May 17-18 at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg. A poster was also exhibited.

Presentation at Smart Systems Integration in Dresden (11.-12.04.2018)

On the 12th of April the scope and first results of the project ARIDuA were presented at the international conference Smart Systems Integration in Dresden by Frederic Güth. The talk was met with great interest by the roughly 300 participants and the conference paper was nominated for the “Best Paper Award”.

Junior researcher Franziska Wolf presented the goals and tasks of ARIDuA as well as the first research results in AP1 to an international audience of experts. With the poster she reached a 4th place in the 2018 SMe Graduate Student Contest sponsored by Caterpillar. DOI: 10.13140/RG.2.2.17328.87046

The poster (in German) informed the participants about the project topic, the possible application of project outcomes in Saxony and the qualification of the junior researchers.

Recent videos of tests with the robot Julius in the research and teaching mine Reiche Zeche are available on the  YouTube Channel of the Mining-RoX project.

In the new video the research robot "Julius" navigates auonomous through the local research mine "Reiche Zeche".
