A stable economy, good salaries and a wide range of interesting jobs attract international specialists to work in Germany. However, the application process is governed by the typical German correctness and formality. To know the rules and requirements is essential for finding a job. This seminar provides you with all the necessary information you will need when applying particularly on the job market outside academia.

Subjects:

  • Job-seeking strategies (active and passive job search tips)
  • Application documents (cover letter, CV, certificates)
  • Overview on starting salaries and practical exercise on calculating your salaray

In the first part of this seminar you will learn how to target your search for future employment, and where you can look for vacancies, incl. job databases and social media strategies. There will also be explanation and practice about the meaning of typical German phrases in job advertisements.
Another point will be about job fairs and the necessary preparation.

The following part helps you to understand how to write your cover letter and CV, and how best to adapt your application to the job offer. Moreover we speak about a special profile you can use for job fairs.

The last part will give an overview regarding starting salaries and accompanying you get a practical expercise on adjusting the salary for each application.

After the workshop you may get a feedback about your application documents, so you will be well prepared for career fair ORTE on 11 January 2018.
