TU Bergakademie Freiberg Awards Degrees to Over 700 Graduates
With the Nikolaikirche full to capacity, around 200 graduates received their Certificates of Graduation from Rector Prof. Dr. Klaus-Dieter Barbknecht and Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Silvia Rogler.
Most graduates came from the Faculties of Business Administration and the International Resource Industry (260), Geosciences, Geoengineering and Mining (190), and the Faculty of Mechanical, Process and Energy Engineering (143). Almost 54 percent graduated with a Master's degree (414), 27 percent with a Bachelor's degree (204) and 19 percent (143) with a German ‘Diplom’ degree. This year, for the first time, the University also awarded degrees to graduates of the ‘Diplom’ Programme in Business Administration for the Resource-Based Industry at the Faculty of Business Administration and the International Resource Industry. Degrees were also awarded for the first time at the two international Master-of-Science programmes (MSc) in Advanced Mineral Resources Development and in Sustainable Mining and Remediation Management at the Faculty of Geosciences, Geoengineering and Mining.
